Salt

This collection of photos was taken yesterday, on a trip with my school's Photo Club. We visited Salt, a Christian town in west-central Jordan. We walked through a market downtown and visited two churches in the area. The Al-Khader Church, a local pilgrimage site, was built in 1682 in honor of St. George, who according to legend was a Christian soldier in the Roman army in the 3rd century BCE. He was executed when he refused to make a sacrifice to Roman gods (Visit Jordan website).
