A Glimpse of Taipei

A visit to 碧潭 or Green Lake, a tourist destination in Taipei. It offers beautiful views, pedal boats, restaurants, and other attractions and activities. The suspension bridge is only open to people on foot. After nightfall, the bridge lit up with glowing lights, presenting a perfect opportunity for some night shots. The next day, I visited the National Taiwan Museum, where a photo exhibit, "Paris Céleste" by French photographer Bérangère Lomont is being held. Her collection presents heavenward impressions of the cupolas in famous buildings across Paris, including churches, operahouses, and palaces. The National Taiwan Museum was also worth documenting, as it is rich in history; it was established in 1908 under the Japanese colonial government. The architectural style emulates that of Western builders who in turn were first inspired by Islamic domed structures.

Ailurophile

It's often said that dogs are a man's best friend, but the same is almost never said of cats. They are truly underrated and underappreciated beings--flawlessly elegant in appearance, fluidly sinuous in movement, and upright in both posture and character. And when you get to know them, their characteristic aloofness and seemingly constant somnolence become all the more endearing. Oreo has been a part of my family for seven years, and not a day goes by when I don't feel thankful that she is, and will always be, one of us.
