The pictures in this collection were taken at Shandiaojiao and Jiufen, in the mountains of Taipei County. Shandiaojiao (variants: Sandiao Cape or San Diego Cape) is famous for its stunning views of the coastline, and Jiufen is a small town/village and a tourist attraction. The castle-like structure is the King Car Cafe, another popular destination for tourists.

Unexpected Tenants

Simple shots of a mom cat with one of her three kittens in our garden. She's very protective, hissing when I get too close.

Cityscapes

This post is a collection of pictures that I took on an outing to the heart of the Taipei, the capital of Taiwan, where I spent my summer. The Taipei 101, which formerly held the title for the tallest building in the world, is located in this quarter. The man in the 7th photo is practicing with a "Chinese Yoyo", a traditional art. One pulls the yoyo back and forth over a string attached to two wooden sticks, tosses the yoyo into the air and attempts to balance it on the string when it falls.
